This is something that I’ve worked at for a very long time, and many times I felt like it just wasn’t going to happen. Even though I’ve worked hard for it, I would have been ok with it had it of not happened at all. With that being said, I finally won an award for my photography!
This photo was selected as the Top Photo Winner in the GuruShots - Infinity photo challenge! There were over 25,000 photos entered, 5.7 million total votes, and I took the top spot!
Everything seemed to fall into place perfectly for me to capture this image, and it would be almost impossible to duplicate it. I think that makes it even more special being my first award-winning photograph.
This photo was shot at the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern, located in Houston, TX. I took a special photography tour of the cistern and this was the last shot I took before we left. It was a 1’45” long exposure, and you can perfectly see the reflection of the ceiling on the still water.
I’ve attached the winning photo below, as well as, a couple of other shots I took while at the cistern. If you ever have a chance to go tour the cistern, I would highly recommend it. Check out this link to view my winning photo, as well as the other top 10 photos.
