There are times when I take a photo that I think it is going to turn out great, only to get back to the studio to find out it really didn’t work the way I envisioned it. There are also times where there are photo that I don’t think much about and after some post-processing it jumps out at me. This photo was one that jumped out at me while I was editing.
It isn’t a perfect photo, nor is it a photo that would be used in a magazine ad either; however, this photo has an authentic feel to it. It is real life, yet it is imperfectly beautiful as well.
This photo was selected to be printed and displayed at the Blank Wall Gallery, which is located in the heart of Athen’s, Greece.
The Blank Wall Gallery, along with GuruShots, is featuring a “City Scenes” exhibition and they chose this photo to be put on display. I am truly honored that they would consider my work good enough to be internationally exhibited.
While I was taking this photo, my friend and shooting buddy was taking a photo of me as well. I remember this day vividly as it was extremely hot and we had just finished shooting at the Houston Water Cistern. We started walking around exploring some other interesting views and while hiding under the bridge for some shade, I snapped this shot. I think it is interesting to see the work someone is willing to put in to capturing an image. Check out his photo below:
